2016 Year in Review
2016 was an exciting year for Triplet 3D. We had the privilege of working with many great companies on a variety of interesting projects throughout the United States. Aside from the new projects, Triplet 3D exhibited at Comic Con and Weapons of Mass Creation Fest this year and released five in-depth tutorials on Skillshare.
Architectural Illustrations
2016 saw plenty of architectural illustration work come in including the YMCA Dream House, Roger Williams University, Community College of Rhode Island, as well as numerous other projects. Triplet 3D can work from a wide range of file types and specs; from blueprints, 3D models (Revit, SketchUp, Vectorworks, etc), photographs and even napkin sketches.
Animation and Motion Graphics
Two noteworthy animation projects we worked on this year were for the Cleveland Institute of Art (Animation and Game Design Departments) and the City of Mentor. The CIA logo animation project consisted of animating letters using Cinema 4D’s Sketch and Toon features, alpha channel opacity wipes, the plain effector, and a bit of XPresso.
The map animation for the City of Mentor was part of their ‘Mentor Means Business’ campaign and was used within a one minute promotional video to show the proximity of the city to major highways, airports, and the Port of Cleveland. The animation was created using Cinema 4D and the DEM Earth plug-in.
Skillshare
We share. Interested in learning Cinema 4D? Check out these five in-depth tutorials on Skillshare. You’ll gain insight into animating with deformers, rigid bodies, using motors and dynamics, texturing using Body Paint, and a host of other important techniques to take your skills to the next level.
Looking Forward to 2017
After a great 2016, Triplet 3D is looking forward to an even better 2017. We’re excited for new projects, events, and whatever else the year has in store for us.
